Three arrested on burglary charges

VALDOSTA — Three people are in jail after witnesses caught them robbing a vacant home Wednesday.

At 11:30 a.m., the Valdosta Police Department responded to the 2400 block of Deborah Drive in reference to the report of a burglary in progress at a vacant house.

An eye-witness told officers that individuals were taking items from the house. The offenders had left the area before police arrived on the scene, but witnesses were able to provide investigators with a description of a vehicle.

Officers located the vehicle a short time later in a parking lot in the 1500 block of Northside Drive. Investigators spoke with three suspects who were then placed under arrest and charged with burglary, according to the VPD.

Deblyn Davis, 51, L.J. Roberts, 66, and George Roberts, 64, are all Valdosta residents and are in the Lowndes County Jail pending judicial proceedings.

The Valdosta Police Department Bureau of Investigations asks anyone with information regarding the incident to call (229) 293-3145.
