Sheriff's Office searching for escaped inmate

VALDOSTA — Deputies and investigators from the Sheriff’s Office are working with the Georgia Department of Corrections to locate Marvin Smith, an inmate at the Valdosta Transitional Center who left the facility shortly after midnight on June 12 and failed to return. Smith was incarcerated following a motor vehicle theft conviction in Glynn County.
