CANTON, Ga. —
Sheriff’s officials say a man who was suspected in the disappearance of an Alabama woman killed himself while deputies were searching his mobile home.
Cherokee County sheriff’s Lt. Jay Baker says deputies were searching 22-year-old Max Zeller’s mobile home in Canton Tuesday morning after authorities in DeKalb County, Ala. notified them that he was sought in the disappearance of his 54-year-old aunt, Felicia Lindsey, whose car was found near his trailer.
When deputies were searching the home, Baker says Zeller ran to a bedroom and deputies heard a gunshot. Baker says deputies entered the room and saw that Zeller had shot himself in the mouth. He was later pronounced dead.
Baker says authorities found Lindsey dead in Alabama, and Zeller had a warrant for failure to pay child support.
