Little Actors Theatre hosts ‘Honk!’ auditions

VALDOSTA — Little Actors Theatre is ready to hear youngsters sing “Hold Your Head Up High,” “Poultry Tale,” and most importantly, hear young performers “Honk!”

LAT of Valdosta hosts auditions for “Honk!” this weekend.

“Honk!” is George Stiles and Anthony Drewe’s musical comedy of Hans Christian Anderson’s “The Ugly Duckling,” the well-known story of a small bird that believes it is an ugly duck but grows up to be a beautiful swan.

Little Actors Theatre is an organization that features area children performing all roles in shows developed for children by children. Diane Tovar serves as LAT’s director. For the auditions, children should come prepared to sing. Auditions are free and open to youngsters and youths, ages 6 to 19 years old.

The auditions are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, Westside Baptist Church, 1600 Lankford Drive.

Rehearsals start 5:15 p.m. the following Monday, Jan. 13, and will be held 5:15-7:15 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays; 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays. All rehearsals will be held at Westside Baptist Church.

The performances are scheduled for 3 and 7 p.m. March 8, and 3 p.m., March 9, Valdosta High School Performing Arts Center, 3101 N. Forrest St.
