JONESBORO, Ga. —
Police in suburban Atlanta say a girl who told authorities she was shot while selling candy door-to-door was accidentally shot by her older brother.
Henry County Police Maj. Jason Bolton tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://bit.ly/12EsTq9) the girl was shot in her abdomen by her 18-year-old brother Monday afternoon while he was playing with a gun. Police say the shooting took place inside the teens’ house in Henry County, not on the street — which the girl initially told investigators.
The unidentified victim said her brother was with her at the time of the shooting, and police took the teen in for questioning shortly after the incident.
Bolton says the victim and her brother could both face charges.
