Blazers to hold spring game today

VALDOSTA — The Valdosta State football team will conclude its spring practice schedule today with the playing of its spring game at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium.

The split-squad game is set to begin at 11 a.m., although the chances of the team being completely split for the game isn’t likely because of a lack of depth on the offensive line.

Instead, the team is more likely to run through different scenarios today with fans watching.

Admission to the game is free.

The Blazers began spring practice Feb. 15 and have since held 14 workouts and made a visit to the Georgia State Capitol where they were honored for winning the 2012 Division II national championship.

Today’s spring game will mark the Blazers’ fifth practice this spring in full pads, and second since Tuesday.

The Blazers the 2013 season Sept. 7 at Fort Valley State, and opens their home schedule Sept. 21 versus Shorter.
