Stanton Moore tossed a complete game shutout and the Cook Hornets routed the Early County Bobcats 11-0 on Wednesday night in Blakely.
In his seven innings, Moore struck out nine Bobcats batters, allowing three hits in the process.
At the plate, Dalton Rentz was 2 for 3 with two runs scored and two runs batted in. Connor Hilliard and Parker Bennett were each 2 for 4 with two runs scored, while it was Bennett who drove in a run. Lead-off batter Zane Folsom was 3 for 3 with three runs scored for the Hornets.
Cook will host Pelham on Friday at 6 p.m.
Berrien beats Fitzgerald
FITZGERALD — Berrien’s baseball team defeated Fitzgerald 3-2 on Tuesday night.
The Rebels scored three runs in the top of the sixth, and rallied from a 2-0 deficit to earn a Region 1-AA win. Ashton Sparks had an RBI double, Travis Branham tied the score with an RBI single and Sparks scored the winning run while Fitzgerald had Branham caught in a rundown.
Sparks was the winning pitcher. He struck out 11 batters in six innings.
Berrien (8-2, 3-0 in 1-AA) will host Early County on Friday.
