VALDOSTA — This year’s Wildcat Shootout is a four-man scramble type tournament in which teams play 18 holes of golf at the Valdosta Country Club.

Participants tee off on Friday morning, starting at 9 in a golf fundraiser with all the proceeds going directly to the Valdosta Wildcats football team.

Each of the 30 teams in the field paid $400 to register not only for the tournament, but also for an invite to a dinner and silent auction that was held Thursday evening at 6 in the Valdosta Country Club’s main lobby.

Over 100 items were auctioned Thursday night.

Items auctioned include: hunting trips, fishing trips, rounds of golf, and the Winnersville fan experience in which a fan travels to Lowndes with the Wildcats for this year’s Winnersville Classic and enjoys a pregame meal with the team.

It’s not too late to sign up as a sponsor for the Wildcat Shootout and support Valdosta High.

Sponsorship opportunites come in packages between $150 and $4,000.
