Highland Christian runners perform well at region meet

VALDOSTA — Highland Christian School saw several of its athletes qualify for the GISA State Track and Field Meet, which will be held next week in Albany.

The following students will qualified for the state meet after a strong showing in the 2A GISA region meet.

Wesley Robinson placed third in the 100-meter race, and second in the 200-mete event with a time of 24.8 seconds.

Taylor Sanders finished fourth in the 200-meter event with a time of 32.8 seconds, while Jaylen Hiller finished first in the 400-meter race with a time of 56.5 seconds.

Megan Maruyama finished first in the 400-meter girls’ event with a time of 1.06, while Amrie Lisse finished second in the 1600-meter event with a time of 6.43 minutes.  Lisse also finished second in the 3200-meter event with a time of 14.11.

In the boys’ 1600-meter event, Ryan Dobson finished second with a time of 5.30 minutes.

Zack Lake finished third in the Long Jump, while 4X400 relay team of Hiller, Lake, Jamar Sanders and Dobson finished third.
