The Lowndes track and field teams competed this past Saturday at the Larry Clarke Invitational in Bainbridge.
The boys finished third overall, with 61 points, out of 21 teams in attendance. The top three teams took home trophies for their performances for the day.
The girls finished eighth.
Davonte Watts who finished first in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.86. He also finished second in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 36.69. A.J. Harper finished second in the shot put with a throw of 47 feet, five inches.
Jadon Long finished second in the 2-mile run with a time of 10:24. Long also finished third in the 1-mile run with a time of 4:47.
Chance Roe, a freshman, finished fourth in the 1-mile with a time of 4:53.
Lowndes’ boys’ 4X400 relay team finished third with a time of 3:#7. The members included: Davonte Watts, Eric Hart, Richard Williams, and Seneca Fuller.
On the girls side, the Vikettes racked up 39 points to finish eighth.
The LHS track team competed without Megan Charbeneau, an all-state runner that was feeling under the weather, but still earned 14 points in the mile and 2-mile race because of a solid performance from Alison Peters, a junior.
Peters finished second in the 2-mile run with a time of 12:30 and third in the 1-mile with a time of 5:56. Jackie Pinkerton dominated the 800-meter race by running a time of 2:25, 10 seconds better than the next closest finisher.
Both teams will compete again Wednesday in the quad meet at Tift County. Valdosta will also participate in the meet.
