Lowndes baseball falls to Providence, 6-0

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Lowndes’ baseball team fell to Providence 6-0 Saturday afternoon. The Vikings’ game against Eagles View was canceled.

Lowndes mustered just five hits in its 6-0 loss. Providence got onto the scoreboard in the fifth inning with four runs, and added two more in the sixth off Viking pitcher Logan Hutchinson. Cory Pope replaced Hutchinson in the sixth inning and allowed the final two runs on three hits.

Hutchinson took the loss, allowing two earned runs (four total) on six hits. At the plate, Mason Miller was 2 for 3, the only Viking to record multiple hits on the day. Nic Higginbotham, Blake Smith and Garrett Fuller also recorded hits.

Lowndes hosts Cook on Wednesday night at Noel George Field.
