Lowndes softball players Cara Parker and Heather Robinson were named to the GACA All-State softball teams on Wednesday, according to an announcement by head coach Stewart Thomas.
Infielder Cara Parker was named to the First Team and a Senior All-Star, while utility player Heather Robinson was named to the Second Team.
Parker, who signed a national letter of intent to play college softball at Division I Appalachian State University in Boone, N.C., played two seasons at Lowndes — she transferred in from Jacksonville, Fla. This past season, Parker hit .416 with five home runs, 25 runs batted in, 15 doubles, two triples and had a .505 on-base percentage and a .792 slugging percentage.
She was also named to the All-Region team both years at Lowndes.
Robinson, who has signed to play college softball with Division II national champion Valdosta State, finished the 2012 season with a .377 batting average, eight home runs, 22 RBIs and eight doubles.
Robinson was one of only four players in Lowndes softball history to hit eight or more home runs in a season. She was first-team All-Region selection both her junior and senior seasons.
Lowndes finished with a 20-10 record this season, after being swept by Hillgrove in the first round of the Class 6A state playoffs.
