Georgia Christian sweeps Open Bible

DASHER — The Georgia Christian varsity basketball teams swept Open Bible Monday night in Dasher.

The girls started the night with a 59-28 win, followed by the boys' 74-44 rout of the Warriors.

After grabbing just a five-point lead in the first quarter, the Generals used a 30-point second quarter to grab a 48-16 lead at the half, before coasting to the win in the second half.

Georgia Christian scored 20 points in the third quarter, building a 68-31 lead at the end of the third quarter.

Jerimiah Beverley and Zac Bunion each had 16 points, while Cole Copeland finished with 15 points. John Worsley finished with 12 points for Open Bible.

The Generals are now 7-2 on the season.

The Lady Generals won in convincing fashion Monday, beating the Lady Warriors 59-28.

Lindsey Levings and Haley Garrett each scored 13 points in the win, which featured the Lady Generals leading by double digits at the end of the first quarter.

Anna Joy Holton finished with 10 points for Open Bible.

The Open Bible girls are now 6-3 on the season and return to action Jan. 4 against Melody in Dasher.
