VALDOSTA — The first of what could be several football coaches to leave Valdosta State has departured.
Offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Robbie Brown has taken the offensive coordinator position at Northwestern State, a Division I-FCS school located in Natchitoches, La., according to FootballScoop.com.
Brown will take over a Demon offense that averaged just 296.8 yards per game, including 179.1 yards through the air. The Demons finished with a 4-7 record in 2012, losing their final three games by a combined 121-48.
In 2012, Brown helped build the Blazers into one of the most prolific offensive units in the country, averaging 469.4 yards per game and 41.5 points per game en route to a 12-2 record and the Division II national championship.
Brown came to Valdosta State in 2009 after serving as the offensive coordinator at Henderson State.
