ATA Valdosta competes in Fall Championships

VALDOSTA —  Mitchell Church, Chief Instructor of Performance Martial Arts Academy reports that fourteen of his students recently competed in the Taekwondo Fall National Championships in Orlando, Fla.

This event was sponsored by the American Taekwondo Association and drew thousands of competitors from across the United States, Canada, Korea and South America.  

In the Color Belt Division, Lucas Smidtas placed fourth in Sparring, Madison Swain placed second in Traditional Forms, third in Sparring and first in Combat Sparring, Christian Dawson placed first in Tradtional Forms, first in Traditional Weapons, first in Sparring and third in Combat Sparring; Matthew Dawson placed fourth in Sparring; John Dawson placed Second in Traditional Weapons and third in Sparring and Anna Leigh Coody placed first in Traditional Forms, Traditional Weapons and in Combat Sparring.

In the First Degree Black Belt Division, Patrick Horsley placed fourth in Sparring; William Horsley placed third in Sparring and second in Combat Sparring; Kim Howell placed fourth in Traditional Forms; J.T. Howell placed third in Sparring and third in Combat Sparring; Duane Cunningham placed in fourth Tradtional Weapons; Kyle Turner placed fourth in Traditional Weapons and Zackery Coody placed third in Combat Sparring.

In the Fourth and Fifth Degree Black Belt Division, Jennifer Powell placed fourth in Tradtional Weapons, while Mark Webb placed  first in Traditional Weapons, Creative Weapons, Extreme Weapons, Creative and Extreme Forms and third in Sparring.
