CLEVELAND, Tenn. —
The Lee Flames proved to be too much for Valdosta State in Friday night's Gulf South Conference matchup, as the Flames rolled the Blazers 0-3 in Cleveland, Tenn.
Lee controlled the contest from the outset and never backed down, defeating Valdosta State 25-16 in the first set,
followed 25-17 and 25-13 victories in the second and third sets.
The loss for Valdosta State drops their record to 16-10 overall and 8-5 in conference play, with each of VSU’s 10 losses occurring on the road.
With the win, Lee overtook the Blazers for second place in the GSC standings, as they now hold a 8-4 record in league play and stand at 11-6 overall.
The Blazers will have an opportunity to improve their conference record on Saturday, as they face Shorter on the road. The match is slated for a 1:00 p.m. start.
