-- — David Posas, a Valdosta High School baseball player under Head Coach Bart Shuman, participated in the Perfect Game Underclass All-American Games at the University of San Diego in San Diego, Ca. this week.

This was a strict invite of the top juniors in the country and it took place, along with the Perfect Game All-American Classic, at Petco Park on Sunday, the event was televised on MLB Network.

Perfect Game is the World’s largest Baseball Scouting Service. Perfect Game states that the showcase is the most impressive alumni list of any Perfect Game showcase, with the exception of the National Showcase which David was invited to in June in Minneapolis at the Metro Dome.

There were four teams and they played one another on Monday and Tuesday with many scouts in attendance.

David played shortstop and thirdbase for the Nationals team.

They had a chance to showcase their batting and infield skills before the games took place.

David had a great experience and was happy with his performance and he is hoping he will be selected to come back next year for the televised All-American Games in 2014, as he is working hard in the class room and on the field in hopes to play Division 1 college baseball.

David is currently ranked by Perfect Game for the 2015 class as fifth best shortstop in Georgia and the 43rd shortstop nationally.

As an overall player, he is ranked 227 nationally and 23rd in Georgia.

David was named to the 1-AAAAAA All-Region 2nd team in 2012 and 2013, to the 2013 Underclass High Honorable Mention Perfect game pre-season team, and to the 2013 Prep Gear All–American Team.

David also is an International Baccalaureate student at Valdosta High School and participates on the the swim team at VHS.  He is a member of St. John Catholic Church and the son of Dr. Hernan and Lisa Posas.
