THOMASVILLE — The Valwood Valiants used a dominating performance from running back Khary Paige to blow out rival Brookwood 35-0 Friday night and improve to 9-0 on the season.

“We played good,” Valwood head coach Ashley Henderson said. “We came out hot and got on them early. We had a running clock the entire second half, so everybody got to play and everyone contributed.”

Paige scored four rushing touchdowns on just nine carries to lead the Valiants to the win. Quarterback Tyler Williams capped Valwood's scoring with a touchdown pass to Chard Merine in the second quarter.

Defensively, Valwood's defense held Brookwood's offense in its own end for the entire game.

Valwood faces Southwest Georgia Academy Friday night in Perry for the Region 3-IAA championship. Valwood must win to claim the outright region title.

“We have to win to be outright champs,” Henderson said. “I've seen on Twitter that people are saying that we are region champs. That is not true.”
