SGMP hosts Halloween-themed racing event Saturday

CECIL — On Saturday night, South Georgia Motorsports Park will have a lot of racing, both on the 1/2 mile paved oval race track and the 1/4 mile all-concrete dragstrip.

The dragstrip is hosing Happy Hauntings III, while the race track hosts the inaugural Mobley Gin Cotton Brawlloween.

The gates open at 4:30 p.m. Racing starts around 6 p.m., and lasts until the final race is done. Tickets are $15 per person, with children 10 and under admitted free, and include admission to both the race track and the dragstrip.

There will be different classes of cars racing on Saturday, as well as drag racing in multiple classes. There will also be a series of Halloween events for kids, including trick or treating and a haunted house.

South Georgia Motorsports Park is located on U.S. 41 near Cecil.

Cars from SGMP will be on display today at Gander Mountain in Valdosta from 5-7 p.m. to promote the event.
