Clinch going to the Dome yet again

ROSWELL — Ronnie Hill ran for three touchdowns for the Clinch County Panthers, who defeated Fellowship Christian 26-13 in the Class A quarterfinals Friday.

With the win, Clinch will face Emmanuel County Institute at noon Friday in the Georgia Dome in the state semifinals. This is the Panthers' seventh trip to the Dome in the past eight seasons.

The Panthers scored twice in the first quarter, on a 13-yard run by Hill with 7:35 remaining, and on a 56-yard pass from Vintavious Cooper to Dominique Ellis with 1:23 left in the first.

Fellowship Christian got on the board on a 8-yard run by Jimmy Stainback with 8:55 remaining in the second quarter.

The Panthers answered with under a minute left in the first half, when Hill ran his second touchdown of the night in from three yards out.

Hill finished his scoring with a 41-yard run with 2:57 left in the third.

Fellowship Christian scored again with 49 seconds in the third quarter, when Stainbeck threw a 54-yard touchdown pass to Martin Wetherby.

Hill rushed for 196 yards on 25 carriers for the Panthers, while Cooper completed 7-of-17 passes for 202 yards and a touchdown. Ellis caught three passes for 123 yards and a score.
