Brooks moves on to round three with 27-7 win over Jefferson County

QUITMAN — Brooks County earned a spot in the Class AA state quarterfinals with a 27-7 win over Jefferson County Friday night at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The Trojans trailed 7-6 at halftime, but scored three touchdowns in the second half to pull away.
Brooks’ Keith Christopher ran for 158 yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries in the win. Quarterback Jeramie Cody rushed for 78 yards and completed 5-of-6 passes for 59 yards. Kendrick Christopher ran for 75 yards and a touchdown on just five carries.
Brooks rushed for 341 yards, while holding Jefferson to minus-8 yards on the ground. The Trojans had 400 yards of total offense Friday.
Brooks (11-1) will host Lovett next Friday.
