Lanier sweeps Jenkins in first round Staff reports LAKELAND — Lanier County moved on to the second round of the Class A baseball playoffs with a sweep of Jenkins County Friday, 6-5 and 13-2.
In game 1, Ryan White and Jordan Patton each hit two-run doubles for Lanier in a one-run win. Nathan Bass earned his 10th win of the season. The Bulldogs won game 2, 13-2. White (7-3) pitched a complete game and went 3-for-5 with a home run and a double in the win. Josh Fender and Brandon Maston both went 3-for-4 with a home run. Lanier (19-7) will host Schley County on Wednesday.
