Valwood falls to SGA in final game

THOMASVILLE — The Valwood Valiants’ run at the postseason ended on Monday, as they fell 3-1 to Southwest Georgia in a GISA Region 3-AA fourth seed tiebreaker.
The Valiants (7-15, 3-5) made an incredible improvement after last year’s one-win season, but they ended up finishing in fifth.
Junior Carter Karras pitched a complete game, allowing just one earned run and seven hits while striking out 10 and walking five.
SGA scored two runs, both unearned, in the second inning, and added another run in the fourth.
Valwood’s lone run came from senior Zac Henry. Henry made it to first on a single, and scored on a throwing error by the SGA catcher.
after he stole second. Along with Henry, Cole Parker and Luke Miller also had a single on the afternoon.
