Valdosta boys, Lowndes girls win



Valdosta beats Warner Robins by 20 points

WARNER ROBINS — Valdosta High’s boys basketball team defeated Warner Robins 85-65 Friday night.

Jay Rome led the Wildcats with 24 points. Thoullit Hunter scored 18 for Valdosta, while Cameron Venus added 16. The Wildcats remained undefeated with the victory.

Valdosta (14-0) hosts Northside tonight, with the girls game beginning at 6 p.m.

LHS defeats Houston

WARNER ROBINS — Lowndes High’s girls basketball team improved to 11-2 with a 46-28 win over Houston County Friday night.

Scoring was balanced for the Vikettes. Kendra Thornton, D’Arcy Williams and Keira Peak each scored 10 points, while Amanda Harper had nine.

Lowndes hosts Colquitt County Tuesday.

Brooks, Cook split

QUITMAN — Clarion Macon scored 14 points, while Jasmine Mapp had 10, leading Brooks County’s girls to a 38-33 win Friday night. Quanesha Smith led Cook with 11 points.

Cook’s boys defeated Brooks, 42-36. Broderek Henry led Cook with 14 points, while Rashad Rose had nine for Brooks.
