VALDOSTA — The Lowndes Middle School FFA Chapter traveled to Waycross on Jan. 15 to compete in the Area VI Career Development Events (CDE’s).
Students from LMS FFA competed in the Parliamentary Procedure CDE and the Wildlife CDE.
The Parliamentary Procedure CDE tests students’ knowledge of parliamentary law through a three-phase competition: parliamentary presentation, oral questions, written test, and the presentation of written minutes. The LMS FFA team placed 2nd, with the highest presentation score.
They will go on to compete in the state competition on March 23 in Athens. Parliamentary Procedure team members include: Daniel Swilley, Bill Gibbons, Morgan Sysskind, Briana Holder, Jenna Loera and Bailee Bush.
The Wildlife CDE provides opportunities for FFA members to demonstrate their technical and management skills relating to wildlife, habitat, and harvesting regulations. Levi Herring was the 3rd high individual in the General Wildlife Identification portion of the contest. Wildlife team members included Levi Herring, Shaw Wacter, Jacob Courson and AJ Cooper.
