Boys & Girls Club of Brooks County studies Far East

QUITMAN — On July 25, the Boys & Girls Club of Brooks County's Barwick Road Unit took a short trip to eat at Keiko's restaurant in Quitman. They were able to watch as the cooks prepared the wings, lo mein, and fried rice. The trip went along with the Boys & Girls Club summer program's week nine Far East theme. The members of Barwick Road Unit would like to thank Keiko's for letting them come enjoy the delicious food they provide.

The trip was part of the Boys & Girls Club's Summer Around the World program. In addition to Keiko's, Barwick Road members have taken trips to Tiger Stripes Exotic Animal Sanctuary in Quitman, Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in Madison, CiCi's, Jac's Lanes in Valdosta and Summer Waves Water Park on Jekyll Island. They have studied cultures from the following places: Mexico, South America, Europe, Africa, the United States, Australia, the Caribbean and Asia.

Anyone interested in attending the Boys & Girls Club of Brooks County's after-school program may stop by the Barwick Road Unit for children ages 5-12 or the Washington Street Teen Center for teens ages 13-18.
