From Valdosta State University
The Spectrum Connection, facilitated by interns from Valdosta State University’s Marriage and Family Therapy program and FamilyWorks Therapy Clinic, will hold its first group meeting of the year Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. at the FamilyWorks Therapy Clinic.
“Spectrum Connection is a group that offers an intimate and safe environment for people of diverse identities to share experiences, questions and concerns about issues relevant to the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual and Transgender (LGBT) community,” said Joshua Waters, graduate assistant and coordinator for the group. “The group allows members to talk about issues they would not normally be able to talk about in public and it covers topics like sexuality, religion, relationships and identity.”
Waters added that the meetings are confidential.
Anyone over 17 years old is welcome to join the group.
The FamilyWorks clinic is located at 903 N. Patterson St. on the corner of Patterson and Gordon streets. For more information, call (229) 219-1281.
