VALDOSTA — Is it now standard policy for Lowndes County dispatch to do nothing about a possible tragedy until after it occurs? I reported a bicycle rider with a male, non-neutered Pit Bull running loose with him — a violation of the city leash law — and was told I have to call animal control. I called animal control and got a recording to call another line if it was a emergency. I called that number and got the same person and the same run-around. I guess it will take this dog mauling a child to get any response from officials. I’m taking this to the next Lowndes County Commission and Valdosta City Council meetings.
To the officer in Cook County who picked up a fawn deer from the road, next time, take it to the woods instead of taking if from his mother. I am sure she was watching.
Can you believe what is going on at the Mexican border? All these children coming to America and getting in. This is a disgrace to U.S. legal citizens. How can the United States survive this sort of behavior? What are elected officials going to do? Why can’t we stop this insane behavior? Can we defend our border or not? 100,000-plus have been welcomed into the USA. These criminals get free food, free school, free health care. The USA is doomed as a country! We need “change now.”
As a gold card member, I am a bit disappointed at Wild Adventures. Get on the band wagon with the rest of the parks of no smoking. No one smokes in the designated areas. Maybe they should watch the second-hand smoke commercials and see how harmful second hand smoke is.
Why can’t our local Industrial Authority, our local chamber, and even our elected state representatives attract any meaningful new industry and business to our Valdosta/Lowndes area? Our regional neighbors seem to be having success and also our state. Our area is desperate for good-paying, meaningful jobs and opportunities.
