Rant & Rave for Monday, Nov. 25, 2013

The Valdosta Daily Times

-- — To the ridiculous ranter who is upset by someone showing a random act of kindness: If you don’t want someone paying for your meal there is a solution, pay for your meal anyway and allow that amount to go toward someone who is worthy of the blessing! After all, it is called “paying it forward” for a reason!

I interview many young people for job openings with our company and three things are very prevalent. One, they can't look you in the eye and actually have a real conversation. Two, they have terrible spelling and grammar because of texting. Three, most young men suffer from ADHD which makes it extremely difficult to get or keep their attention and 100 percent of those suffering from this that I have worked with are “gamers.” Parents need to wake up and see what electronic devices are doing to their children.

Ate lunch on Sunday at the food court. I cleaned my mess up. Why can't others? Those people that clean should be commended for the messes that were left. Do people live like that at home? Kudos to the cleaning crew.

Valdostans should be ashamed. With all of the churches and other great organizations in this town, surely we can provide enough bell ringers so the Salvation Army doesn’t have to pay anyone.

The only problem with the light show in Madison is they do it on a very busy road. And all the idiots park on the edge of the road with their lights off. I am waiting for one of these people to get hit and want to sue someone for hitting them.

The person on North Valdosta Road probably knew he/she needed to turn —like every other person in the lane — and chose to speed past everyone hoping someone would let them in. Moral: get in line and be patient like the rest of us.

I knew it was just a matter of time. Last week my employer sponsored group medical PPO plan was canceled by the insurance company and replaced with, you guessed it, a more expensive Obama approved plan. It's not just individual plans that are being canceled.

Something needs to be done about all the beggars around exit 16. Don't we have an ordinance against this?

Black Friday: Because only in America, people trample others for sales exactly one day after being thankful for what they already have.
