Raves for Wednesday, October 30, 2013

The Valdosta Daily Times

VALDOSTA — Editor’s Note: In 2013, Wednesdays will be  rave-only days. Thank you to our readers for your support.

I was very impressed with the  Fire Department and  the way they paid respect to Ret. Chief  Lloyd Nolan.

Thanks to Lowndes High School Battle of the Border. There were many good bands participating.

Thank you to the Subway on Bemiss Road for still having some customer service. Sometimes all it takes is offering a cup of water to people jogging by.

Thank you to the local businesses and MAFB for having something for Halloween in the upcoming days and next week. I appreciate being able to take my child somewhere to celebrate because it doesn't seem like my neighborhood has been Trick or Treating these past few years.

A huge rave to everyone who has bought popcorn for our son's Cub Scout troop fundraiser. Thank you for supporting our community!

Thank you to the kind citizen who paid for the police officer's breakfast at the Inner Perimeter Road Chik-Fil-A on Oct. 23. I was so inspired, I paid for the breakfast of the person behind me. Thank you!

Thank you to the staff of Smith Northview Hospital. My husband had back surgery last week and everyone we had contact with was very nice and professional. Special thanks to his nurses: Christina and Brie and the lab lady that came around every night at 2 a.m. The food in the cafeteria was delicious. Good experience.

A big rave to the City of Valdosta for the new Woodrow Wilson Gornto Road connection. If this is what SPLOST  can do then you have my vote. Very neat project!

I would like to compliment Gabe at Lowe's for going above and beyond to help me locate exactly what I was looking for. I was clear across the building from where I needed to be and instead of him pointing and just telling me that it was on a certain aisle- he walked me all the way across the building and took me to the aisle. Customer service at its best. Thank  you.
