Rant & Rave for Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013

The Valdosta Daily Times

-- — How much longer can this country allow itself to be run by the obstructionist tea party and the NRA? We must wake up and do something! We are being held hostage by people in Washington who are obviously not intelligent enough to be in the positions they are in. Please continue to vote, no matter how hard they try to stop you!

Just because you live in the country doesn’t mean you don’t have to have your dog controlled. Have a secure fenced area even when they are house dogs. They still need the fenced area to potty safely. It prevents their horrible deaths and wrecks caused by them running in front of vehicles.

I was for the SPLOST tax but with the increase this year in my property tax, I can’t afford to support another tax. Sorry.

Shame on the two young girls who hit the truck as you were parking at Cheddars on Sunday. As you were both laughing at the damage you caused to the truck — we were laughing at how stupid you both are. All 41 of us watching from the windows at Cheddars. Thanks for the Sunday afternoon entertainment.

The city should close off Highland Heights Drive at the Melrose Drive stop sign to keep careless degenerates from speeding down our 30 mph street, running the stop signs, and using it as a “cut through.”

How many people remember when kids playing sports was about fun and the love of the game? Now it’s all about winning, not whether the kids enjoy the game or not. If you aren’t good enough, you don’t get to play. Isn’t this some type of bullying? Telling a child they aren’t good enough. What’s wrong with this picture?

All us teachers and county BOE employees know who approved those raises. If he is allowed to go back to his cushy job, I guess we will finally see who really runs the show and who is watching from the sidelines.

Not voting for SPLOST because you want city officials to pay for bad decisions on the waste water treatment plant only hurts city residents who won’t have those services. If you want officials to pay, vote them out of office. Don’t hurt the rest of us because you are petty and vindictive.

A traffic signal is very much needed at the intersection of Copeland Road and Perimeter Road. It is horrible during school drop-off times.
