Rant & Rave for Monday, April 28, 2014

The Valdosta Daily Times

-- — To the ranter that said we do not need Christians making laws in Georgia. Are you going to spend eternity in smoking or non-smoking? It sounds like you have chosen smoking!

So who stands to profit from this “guns everywhere” bill? IRA, check; gun manufacturers, check; increase of illegal gun sales, check; people who think they’re safer, no check. If you think everyone will be carrying legal registered weapons, please climb from under that rock!

We certainly don’t need chuckleheads from Rant & Rave flying planes over Georgia.

When the Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein testified to the Senate Judiciary Committee that “all vets are mentally ill in some way, and the government should prevent them from owning firearms,” is there a Democrat out there that has served in the military who disagrees with her? Thanks for your service!! Right?

What’s the worst way to harm the economy and jobs in Lake Park? Build low-income housing in an established residential area that starts a trend in the community.

I am so appreciative of our Christian lawmakers in Georgia and this United States; the problem is that we have elected some who do not believe in our Christian ways, and are passing laws that allow abortion on demand, legalizing marijuana, opening up the prison doors and turning loose the criminals, taxing the ones who work to give to those who won’t, destroying our health-care system, down-sizing our military and making us the laughing stock of the world. I don’t think God would approve. ...

Thank you, Greater Lowndes County Zoning Commission, for voting unanimously to deny rezoning of the area in Lake Park. Come on, Lake Park City Council and mayor, it’s time for you to do the right thing too!

Red light after red light. No wonder the flow of traffic in this town is so bad. When you do get a green light you are lucky if five cars can make it through before having to sit at a two-minute red light. Come on, City of Valdosta, wake up already.

Who is responsible for cutting the grass on Highway 94 from Valdosta to Statenville? The grass is about four feet high.

I want to give two thumbs up to Kelly Automotive. When I needed repairs on my car, they were fast and efficient. Thank you!

Please do not bring back the Wednesday rave day. It simply did not work. It was a way for business owners to give themselves a pat on the back and get free advertising.
