The Valdosta Daily Times

VALDOSTA — Recently I was at the Merry Market Place in Valdosta. As I was rounding the corner of one of the aisles, I noticed a sweet lady I knew with tears in her eyes. I asked her if was she all right. She stood there a few minutes with her eyes full of water and said you know, I didn't realize how much a person's mouth could really hurt until you walk up and the gossip is about you.

"Black Friday: Because only in America, people trample others for sales exactly one day after being thankful for what they already have." How true that is. I don't shop on Black Friday because of the pushing, shoving, and outright fighting by many of the shoppers.

It is truly amazing how some people have no time to mind their own business but plenty of time to gripe about others and what they are doing. Get a life and you will have less stress.

To the ranter in SGMC's Patient Financial Services office: I understand that we all have things about our places of employment with which we may not necessarily agree, and that we may want to vent some of those frustrations in this column. However, I would advise you to not disclose so much information about your employer and department in your workplace woes or you might find yourself without a workplace altogether.

I agree with the ranter about the light show in Madison being on a busy highway. I drive down and park well off the road with my flashers on. Last year, I stayed almost an hour and only had three cars on that road. I will be back and park on the side road this time.

The intersection everybody forgot — Knights' Academy Road and North Forest Street. For an interesting day, spend an hour at prime traffic time out there and watch "bump cars" and "paint swapping" in action. It is absolutely hazardous to your health to navigate the bedlam that occurs each day. It's just a matter of time.

To the Lake Park police (two cars) sitting in the median on Lakes Boulevard Saturday night: Do you have any idea how dangerous that was? At one point, neither car had any lights on and then just parking lights. You could have caused an accident!

The morale at Langdale Place is deplorable. We were recently forced to sign a policy stating we could not take concerns to South Georgia Medical Center without the possibly of being fired.

To the person throwing deer heads and deer hides on a dirt road west of Hahira, I will turn you in. I hope you lose all of your hunting rights.
