-- — We are not the worst drivers. The worst drivers come to Valdosta from up north.
To the ranter complaining about the drivers in Valdosta, I absolutely 100 percent agree with you! I wish that the law-enforcement officers were as concerned with aggressive drivers as they are the accidents that occur from them. As a parent of a brand-new driver, I can assure you that I can be just as aggressive! Stop tailgating!
Using your hands-on cell-phone devices or electronic devices should be prohibited unless you are parked in a private or public parking lot and not on the highway. So many people use them when they are stopped at a traffic light and not paying attention to traffic.
I have noticed we have canoes out at the millpond. Has the city changed its policy to allow people to put their boats in now? Someone told me it was a non-accessible lake. If so, I sure would like to put my canoe in and paddle around. It sure is pretty.
I live in the City of Valdosta and am really disgusted that we don’t have an Amtrak station, and we don’t have a city bus. We need to open this up in our city. I wish those who are elected to office would look into this and get the Amtrak bus station.
Wow. It’s hard to believe people are complaining that businesses won’t donate to their kids’ ball teams. Businesses receive hundreds of requests for all kinds of very worthwhile endeavors. They simply can’t support them all.
Valdosta already has one of the highest cost of living rates in the state of Georgia per a recent university study, while being recognized as one of the poorest metro areas in the U.S. Now we are told we must pay more in taxes, either via SPLOST or property tax. No more. Maybe local government should find ways to trim its own budgets, salaries, etc., before asking the public to contribute even more.
