VALDOSTA — THUMBS UP: To the Public Art Advisory Committee, Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts, and Boys & Girls Club for its participation in the creation of an ongoing project that will have area youths and the public create a massive ceramic work that explores Valdosta history from the beginning of the universe to the present.
THUMBS UP: To Eddie Koonce. As part of Kemet Universal Ancient African and Egyptian Masonic & O.E.S. Order, the organization’s grandmaster and its members have helped the community in many ways. Koonce spends many of his holidays ensuring those in need have a meal.
THUMBS UP: To Westside Elementary School for being the top fundraiser in the American Heart Association’s Jump Rope for Heart. The school has repeatedly raised the most money. This year Westside raised $10,546.60.
THUMBS UP: To Blayne Barber. The golfer took top honors earlier this week at the South Georgia Classic. Congratulations, too, to organizers for the eighth successful tournament at Kinderlou Forest.
