The Valdosta Daily Times

-- — Truly embarrassing that our community euthanizes 12 animals daily. Our citizenry hasn’t progressed to understand responsibility. The end result in these horrible economic times is the ongoing suffering of animals. Other locales nearby have solved this problem; mandatory spay/neuter and breeding licenses are needed to stop this scourge. Let’s get serious, please!

You don’t get many chances to leave a positive legacy. The City of Remerton or any of the historical societies would have taken just the most historic parts of the Strickland mill to restore and save for future generations. The owners live here, have family here, and made a lot of money from this area. They could have been heroes.

I do not think that Vacation Bible Schools keep track of who they invite and don’t invite. What a horrible thing being given a number of invitations! I see how that could be very upsetting, ruin someone’s day, maybe even their entire life.

If someone blasts a horn at me when a light turns green, I sit there longer and take off very slow. It got so bad one time in San Francisco, with the dummies blasting away, that I just turned off the engine, and looked at the buildings. Be calm, drive on!

I’d have had that limb cut up and hauled off in half the time it took to do all that checking and complaining.

I work in a restaurant with several employees and none of us smoke; however, we are constantly forced to breathe second-hand cigarette smoke from customers who decide to “light up” while ordering their food. If you are about to eat, why must you inhale a cigarette just moments before? Please be courteous to others and keep your smoke to yourself. Thank you!

I am from another area in Georgia where the county residents are allowed to use dumpsters which are free and plentiful. Lowndes County should open their dump sites to the residents and maybe there wouldn’t be so much trash on the roadways or illegal dumping in businesses dumpsters. We definitely pay enough property tax in Lowndes County to afford this!

The tropical storm may very well have unexpectedly developed into a much stronger storm. I appreciated the warning.

To the person defending the VA by attacking welfare, did you ever hear “two wrongs do not make a right”? Also, if you’re stressed every second of every day, you are in the wrong line of work.
