Rant & Raves for Wednesday, July 10, 2013

The Valdosta Daily Times

VALDOSTA — Editor’s Note: In 2013, Wednesdays will be  rave-only days. Thank you to our readers for your support.

I want to thank the young couple that stopped and gave me and my two puppies a ride home Sunday evening during a heavy downpour. They drove up in a nice pearl white Ford pickup out of nowhere, like a pair of living angels! JT and Jessie, thank you.

We take our elected officials for granted: criticizing them more often than not. I recently have had contact with the offices of Ralph T. Hudgens, Commissioner of Insurance, Mary Nell Robertson, tax collector, and the Board of Assessors. Their offices are run efficiently and their personnel carry out their missions in a professional manner.

Thank you, Darrien and Amy at the Pool Store. They make sure my pool is in  working  at all times. They are the greatest.

Rave to Dr. Hoyt and his staff at the Pearlman Cancer Center. They are great. They go above and beyond  to make patients feel at ease. They make you feel like you are a part of their family.

Dr. Fricker and his office staff are very nice, and friendly and can’t help you enough. We love them very much.

Hooray,  I walked into the new Dollar General in Naylor and was very pleased with the store. It is very nice. Now it is time for a fast-food restaurant. Come on Naylor, let’s do it!

A belated thank you and praise to Dawn Morrison, director of Nashville Better Hometown Program, for all the hard work done to provide Nashville the privilege of hosting the Smithsonian American Roots Music Exhibit. Thanks also for all the free great live musical programs provided      each week between      May 19 and June 29 at our local community center.

Thank you to the person on Skipper Bridge Road who plants the sunflower seeds each year. The sunflowers this year have been beautiful. Thank you so much!

Thank you, Dean Poling for the great article on the presidents.

Enjoyed the article by Rev. Rose in the July 4th Times. Great article.

On June 24, I was involved in an accident on old route 41 and North Valdosta Road. The young man and young lady that called my sister, I want to say thank you "my Angels.” God bless you both.

Family Pizza on Bemiss  never disappoints.
