Rant & Rave for Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013

The Valdosta Daily Times

-- — I seriously question how some congregations in this town find the time to worship the Lord when they are so busy worshiping the pastor, first lady, ushers, usher’s wives, etc. Shame on the leadership for not focusing the church on where their eyes should be.

Someone forgot the old school rule of I before E except after C on the Yield to Bikes signs on the new connector road between Gornto and Woodrow Wilson. Hope there was a discount on them since the words were misspelled.

Could someone please explain why we have a rule to leash your pets in Kinderlou if no one is required to do it? What is the point if it’s not enforced?

To all those who stayed after the game to watch our kids play, Thank you. From the bottom of a Blue Devil Brigade mom’s heart.

To the ignorant idiot who called me an idiot in the Tuesday rant. I suppose you just want to keep increasing taxes on the poor and middle class until we are all bankrupt, starved, and living in projects. Just in case you are unaware of it, the only ones who have got richer in the last five years are the rich. The middle-class are the poor, and the poor are the homeless.

Everyone complains about speeding, especially on Bemiss. Rarely do you hear about the ones in the left lane slowing to 40 mph to take a picture with their cell phone and then speeding to 60 mph and then slowing to take a picture again. How about the ones swerving because they’re looking in the mirror adjusting their hair or makeup or those who decide to turn right out of the left lane, etc. All of whom probably complain about the speeding “problem.”

The VSU billboard campaign is a waste of money. When the president has to write a 1/2 page op-ed in the newspaper to explain what the signs mean, it shows that marketing research was not done well. Why does VSU need to advertise in Valdosta? Billboards are expensive with costs paid every month. What about reducing tuition or adding to faculty and staff salaries instead?

Valdosta State employs a certified Law Enforcement Bicycle Instructor, yet no bicycles are ever seen on campus. This patrol option is very effective all over the country. Get with the program VSU!

I could care less if people spit tobacco in view of me. We have more pressing things to worry about. It sounds to me like you need to mind your own business!!
