The Valdosta Daily Times

--- — There is no scientific evidence that human activity is causing the planet to warm, according to Greenpeace co-founder Patrick Moore, who testified in front of a Senate committee on Tuesday. We are victims of propaganda. Arctic ice is up 50 percent this year with no change in sea levels.

I am a band parent that does everything I can for my child to participate. For someone to tell me to use the many fundraisers, of which we do, that would raise that amount of money is ridiculous. That would be another full time job just to fundraise. And I would like to keep my friends, instead of having them run from me because I am always trying to get them to buy something. To even think of having a band trip that less than 1/3 of the band can participate in is complete selfishness out of every leader that has approved this trip.

HB-875, why do we need to be armed at church and why mix alcohol with someone strapped with a weapon at their side in a bar?

I would bet that less than half the LHS band can afford to go on a $2,000 trip. Can't the band come up with an option that most band members can afford? Seems really unfair to those that don't have a ton of money to spend.

If the state authorizes a person to carry a concealed weapon and that person later murders someone over loud music or texting in a theater, is not the state partially responsible for the event?

I think it's wonderful that the Lowndes Band has an opportunity to visit our 50th state and play at the Arizona Memorial. The trip is over a year away and they have ample time to save and earn their money. My grandchildren are working hard and doing without a big Christmas and vacation this year. Don't be jealous!

To my fellow employee who continually brags that she is a “servant of others,” have you ever read in the Bible that you are not supposed to brag about your good deeds? Why do you insist on constantly stroking your ego? Enough already!

Valdosta has traffic lights at every creek crossing to help hinder the flow of traffic. I almost reached 35 mph on Jerry Jones the other day before being stopped by a traffic light. Apparently people in neighborhoods such as Old Wood Valley would never be able to leave their neighborhood without a traffic light to assist them.
