The Valdosta Daily Times

VALDOSTA — Some people would argue that having a society where affordable health care is a right instead of a privilege makes for a better overall society. I’m sure those people are ignorant as well, though.

With Obamacare in place, it looks like I do not need to contribute to charities anymore. All people will be taken care of.

Is it just me or does it seem as if people are just out to tear apart the Bible and all it stands for to make themselves feel better for committing sins? I don’t tear apart you. Atheism, Judaism, and Buddhism, nor do I care who you sleep with. Leave the Bible alone.

I was in Hahira and Adel this past weekend and they truly put Valdosta to shame with their Christmas decorations. You would think Valdosta’s lights could be seen from outer space with all the revenue (taxes) collected. Money’s going somewhere, all we get is a few snowflakes. Boo Valdosta.

In the “Duck Dynasty” affair, A&E released the following statement, “... we have always been strong supporters and champions of the gay, lesbian, transgender and transsexual community ...” Really? Champions? Well, let’s do what we always do, complain, watch A&E, pay for the A&E channel, buy products from advertisers on A&E, take off to Disney the parent company of A&E, and complain.

If you’d have read my post, the issue was Obama mandated EPA requirements. So, no, prior Georgia Power rate increases are not on him. His current war on electricity, which equates to higher rates for all of us, however, is. New scrubbers, new after-burners, will not help the environment, only hurt consumers. Vote Republican, defeat evil.

City of Lakeland, our trash cans are full as of Tuesday morning! Before the Christmas Eve festivities. Well now it’s Christmas Day and we have nowhere to put our trash. Since “the driver doesn’t get out of the truck,” what do you suggest we do?

Teachers, you are not the only ones having to do without raises and with furloughs. Times are not good. Get over it. Teach our children and stop resisting change so that we can stop backsliding on education.

Merry Christmas, constant complainers, and everyone else, too.

Bless the family near Madison that does the Christmas light show. I have been there four times this year already and twice I had tears in my eyes. The music is great and the lights so perfectly timed.
