The Valdosta Daily Times

-- — To the one saying we need certain franchise restaurants, etc. My answer to you is - open one!

Rave to South Georgia Medical Associates for bringing on a new cardiologist. He is from Fitzgerald, GA. Welcome to Valdosta, Dr. William Douglas Luke.

Can the Traffic Mgt. Office go back and reset the traffic lights?

Where is the money coming from that now pays for all  student meals at Valdosta City Schools? How can Lowndes County get in on that? My children thankfully get reduced prices (not thankful for the reason why.), but free would be nice. We work hard and this economy has kicked us just about as low as we can get.

Don't get  dogs if you can't take care of them! Be careful who you give them to, if you must. Treat them as you would want to be treated. They are loyal, loving and sometimes save lives.

I would like to thank all those volunteer coaches that help teach our kids. This includes any person who volunteers for football, baseball, cheer, soccer, whatever! It takes a lot of work to have practices, games, get calls and texts all day from parents. I would especially like to thank the Titletown Titans coaches for all age groups. You've had our boys out there working hard for 3 months now, with no pay and no "benefits." My son is one of the older members but we see you all working with kids from 6 years to 12 years. It is much appreciated!!!

The grass downtown in Quitman is not kept up and the roads need repairing. What is going on in Quitman and what are our elected officials doing with the money?

OK, LHS fans. Now that they have marked off the tailgate area in 40 ft. spots for football games, be prepared to pay for the spots. What's next?

Every day, Ashley Street by SGMC is a raceway park. People are speeding, going in and out of traffic like crazy people. Where are the police during the morning rush to work? If they were out there, a whole lot of tickets would be given out.

Now the Chamber is having exclusive parties for their highest paying members. Yes, lowly members like myself, it was Aug. 15 at 5 p.m. at the Chamber. And to think that about 85 percent of their members pay the minimum amount. Does that mean that 85 percent of their membership is not important?

The reason why Valdosta and Brooks County schools get free lunch but Lowndes does not is simple - parent's income.
