VALDOSTA — Many, many thanks to the lady working at the jewelry county at Walmart on Norman Dr. She went well beyond the call of duty in helping me get a watch battery replaced.
I wanna give a big thanks to the Valdosta mall security guard when I was trying to shop this past weekend. Thanks to him and the other guards that I was able to move around. There were kids blocking stores standing around doing nothing. They made them move so I could get my stroller around. My real question is to the 13 year olds parents who left them at the mall alone and taught their child to make fun of authority figures and adults.
A big rave to Lowndes County crews who are cleaning up the Bemiss roads and the median. That is a job. Some businesses kept it up really well and some let it go. But Lowndes County crews are keeping it looking good. Thank you
Thank you to Victoria at Winn-Dixie in Lake Park for being honest. I left my cash back in the automatic check out. She found it, and turned it in. Great employee. Keep her Winn-Dixie.
I can't thank Jeremy at Kohl's enough for his help in buying my husband's suit. I am not able to operate those computers and order on-line, but he took the time and trouble; such patience plus I got to use my Kohl's cash. Best place to shop in town, and absolutely No Exclusions. Yeah!!
I would like to give a huge thank you to Yasmin at the Sanitation Dept. for going out her way to get our junk pile picked up even though we had been waiting almost two weeks to get it picked up. Thank You again!
Praise for Dean Poling's article, "Old Glory", citing the origins of our US flag and Flag Day. This should be required reading in our schools from 5th grade on up. Too many of our young children are clueless as to why they say the pledge of allegiance in the morning at school. This article captures the essence of this solemn (and, yes, patriotic) ritual and how it came to be. Great job, Dean!
