VALDOSTA — The best way to cure the health insurance problems is for each of us to do our part. It is a known fact that being overweight/obese causes a lot of illness such as cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, joint deterioration/arthritis, etc. Do some moderate activity each day and eat less. If we do not change our way of living, we are doomed as a nation. It is pitiful to see so many obese adults and their children looking the same, not fair to them!
I read about Keurig Coffee locating a facility in Douglasville that could add 500 jobs. Where was our Industrial Authority when this location search was taking place? ... Particularly with the news of a 2.12 percent population drop and more uncertainty about the future of Moody, I think it’s time for a reassessment of the Authority’s direction and leadership.
It’s a shame to work for someone who gripes all the time. Never a “How are you” or “Thanks for your hard work!”
Sad how some of the so-called Christians in my church are offended if someone asks them to pray for their child. Guess they weren’t listening to the pastor this week.
The selfsame “nonsense” makes such delightful and entertaining reading. At this point I think the rightie-tighties (guns are wholesome, Obamacare is communism, CO2 is good for the earth, illegals are bad for America) are well ahead in nonsense points, but the leftie-loosies (clean water and air are good, it’s better to be kind to people than mean, etc.) also have some points on the board.
Teachers are being asked to go to school during summer vacation to weed and so landscaping chores around the school. Who keeps up the board of education grounds? The high school?
I doubt anyone thinks you’re a “liberal” because you contacted 70 “friends” for help with a tree limb hanging over your house. It’s more likely they think you’re a crotchety old man making a plea for a handout veiled as a request for information. You obviously subscribe to The Valdosta Daily Times ... flip it over to the last page and check out the Service Directory. Call any of the applicable providers there or in the Yellow Pages and ask for an estimate. Your “friends” are probably tired of the constant poor-mouthing.
It is said the proposed tax increase is due to growth. Is Valdosta growing or shrinking?
How romantic to be called a hillbilly. Thank you for the compliment.
