VALDOSTA — Please don't assume pit bulls are out to maul everyone. Your ignorance fuels the judgmental attitude some people have towards these sweet animals. Dogs are a product of the their raising, not their breed. My pit bull was raised to be submissive so that’s how he behaves. Everyone knows the phrase “when you assume ...”
Disgusted by people who think they are entitled to faster service because of their occupation. You are no more important than any other paying customer.
To the person who purposely set fire to the Jacobs family’s hay field, which provides hay to their therapeutic riding horses: It is a good thing you enjoy watching flames and seeing things burn, because you surely will have the opportunity to enjoy that scenario for all eternity.
The question of dress code is actually common sense. Do not send your children to any school in short shorts, tank tops, flip flops. If body parts show, cover them up! And no saggy britches!
I moved here in 1972 to attend Valdosta State College, graduated, stayed, married a Georgia girl, and taught at Lake Park Elementary for 30 years. Love this place!
I still do not understand why so many folks in Valdosta tailgate, speed and just drive reckless. Stop signs might as well not exist over in Blue Pool. I even see folks turning left on Connell to Ashley cross over the bold white line while waiting for the light to change. If they get hit by a vehicle turning left onto Connell, you know they are going to have a fit, even though they are in the wrong.
Most parents allow their children to be on the video games and computer too much. Support your child’s learning by getting them a library card, get books in their hands, and encourage the love of reading. Secondly, make your children responsible for chores around the house. They should be taught a strong work ethic.
