The Valdosta Daily Times

VALDOSTA — Well, you can be mad that Hahira is growing just a little bit, if you'd like. I still see the same charming city I've always loved. While I would love to see the downtown storefronts be filled, we still need this new Dollar General. The current parking lot is a nightmare and accident(s) waiting to happen. The inside of the store is a wreck. Shoppers can't shop for inventory and dollies being in the middle of the aisles. I can't wait for the new Dollar General to open. Thanks Hahira for getting one!

My family was in an accident at the corner of North Oak and Bemiss Saturday. Our van was flipped on its side. I don’t know names of the bystanders, EMT, police, and firemen who helped my husband and offered comfort to my children until I could get there. Words can’t express how thankful I am.

Thanks to the guys at Sears auto center. I was putting off getting my car done and I needed tires and brakes. I would have left it all day at the dealer. They got me right in and had me done in two hours. Excellent! Glad they survived the closings.

Looks like the union rumors at SGMC may be more than just rumors.

To the person who purchased an antenna in place of having Mediacom, or DirectTV, please let us know where you purchased it.

In this day and time, when great customer service is rare, I want to give a big thank you to Kiana and Stephen at Steak n Shake. This past Sunday, there were 13 of us that went in at a busy time, they couldn't put us all together, but made every effort to get us close enough, that it did seem we were sitting together. Their service was excellent, we received our food faster than anywhere I've been with a large crowd and they were friendly and very professional. Thank you for this experience.

Someone mentioned Moody as one of the big industries in Valdosta; the Air Force is cutting 25,000 airmen in the next five years.

A huge rave to Andrea at Metabolic Research Center. She is the most caring, helpful, kind and motivated person I have ever dealt with. She really cares and it shows every time I go there. Thank you Andrea for keeping me motivated to realize my goal weight!

It sure would be nice to see The Gold Plate Restaurant reopen with a new facelift and have a  good simple restaurant in Valdosta.
