I think it is a great idea that everyone not carrying health insurance pays a penalty. They get real sick, taxpayers have to foot the bill anyway. Now there is a little money being put in the kitty. Who gets all that money from "raised" premiums? Great time to be in the health insurance business! Raise premiums, cancel policies of sick people, nothing new about all that, except now they get to blame it all on “Obamacare.”
Special thank you to Jerry at Sew and Go for his assistance on the light show in Madison, Florida. You help has made it a bright year for all that watch it.
The tree lighting at the Lake Park library was wonderful. Thank you Chamber.
The new restaurant in Echols Corbetts Country Corner has great food and a happy bunch working there. Keep up the good work.
The Valdosta Symphony Orchestra is not only a cultural gift to our community but its members are also the most generous musicians. The VSO played accompaniment for the excellent "Nutcracker" performance. The orchestra's conductor and members excelled under unbelievably crowded conditions in the orchestra pit at Mathis. Not a murmur of complaint or discomfort was heard. The VSO deserves all our respect, thanks and support.
A big applause for the ladies of the garden clubs who have decorated The Crescent Garden Center so beautifully. The third floor ballroom has been transformed into a special remembrance of WW II vets. A trip in time with various Christmas themes in all the rooms is a great way to spend an afternoon. Donations help to maintain this century old mansion.
