The Valdosta Daily Times
The Times is great in reporting truths uncovered, but should not put wrecks in the paper.
We need school superintendents and administrators that are concerned with education and learning and not the politics of their position or future positions. It is very evident that many school administrations are riding the wave to the next position.
Are bruises and holes in the wall not enough to have someone charged for domestic violence or at least have them leave the home? In Lake Park, I was told no by a deputy on different accounts because I was married. Family domestic violence is a huge issue and is a very serious matter but if the law won't protect you and your children who will? One day it may be too late then who is to blame!?
If a high school player has a problem with their coach, they shouldn't take to Twitter (or other social media) and vent their feelings. Especially when that means using profanity. Not the way to go about doing business. That just goes to show you how immature the child really is. Discuss the matter with your coach and in private. And if you don't have something nice to say, then don't say (or type) anything.
A friendly, loving and lasting hug is being sent to KJ’s family. We all need answers. We (other moms) are still with sadness and fear too.
The Boys and Girls Club of Valdosta is having a BBQ fundraiser, and I hope they are planning on using some of that money for the Lake Laurie complex. It is in need of some up keep. The fields are in bad shape. There are holes in the fence and netting around all the fields. The restrooms are spider infested, and you are very lucky to find soap or paper towels. So, I really hope they find it in their wallets to bring some of that money to Lake Laurie where the parents are paying to have their kids play sports.
It is time to publish a 10-to-12 year history of the salary, retirement and insurance benefits of our city officials, attorney and city manager. I think you will be shocked at the increases.
I am so tired of hearing about the "segregation" of Valdosta and Lowndes County. People go to school depending on where they live. They live where they live because that's where they want to live. We moved to where we did because we wanted our child to go to the school he goes to. If you want to contribute to integration, then you go ahead and move to another area and change your child's school.
