VALDOSTA — Let me get this right, SPLOST is passed, and in a week you are talking about budget woes? I have to compliment you on your management style, and criticize the voters for passing SPLOST. You talk about Sheriff's office and their budget problems, yet we still do not have enough professional fire protection?
If you think you are so important, then this quote from Margaret Thatcher is for you. "Being powerful is like being a lady. If you have to tell people you are — you aren't.”
To the Valwood students: There are some people who would be offended by a head of lettuce. Just ignore him and move on. Thanks for the tribute. Signed, An Appreciative Vet.
The Republicans have their attack machine in full force against Obamacare. They are trying to convince us that nobody wants it and because the sign-up website has some startup hiccups the whole system should be scrapped. Such hypocrisy. The great number of users trying to get in to sign up crashes the website; that is proof positive that Obamacare is something that millions of people need and want!
I am a Vietnam veteran. Beginning in 1965, I too was spit on, heckled and called a baby killer while in uniform. But they were not hippies, they were college students my own age. I was deeply hurt and confused, but proud to be an American serving my country. Today, I carry no ill will. The outpouring of respect I receive thanking me for my service has made up for that era tenfold.
Taylor Sanderlin, perfect letter in Saturday's paper! Thank you all for honoring our veterans!
I can't believe we have to accept a gas pipeline. We don't want one. This is a democracy, not a corporate wild west. Residents in Texas had a gas pipeline explosion Thursday and still can't go home. Lowndes County Commissioners, listen to the people. We say no to a pipeline.
