The Valdosta Daily Times
Welcome to Lowndes County, where we don't want to have one school system, just one company for trash.
I agree with the comment about that lady in the Walmart parking lot. She was so out of line. The first time she came up, being a caring person, I actually felt bad because I had no money to give her. Then she got further into her story and it felt a little off. A week later when she came up to my family and I with the same story, I really felt sick. There I was, going to help her out, when my family has to count every item going into the buggy. I hope she reads this and is ashamed.
Too soon? The President would have been criticized for "waiting too long" if he had waited to go to Oklahoma. You aren't going to praise anything he does!
The agreement with Advanced, was for us to put our trash by the road very early Friday mornings for pickup. It was not picked up until late Saturday evening!! Get it on time as promised or get out of business, since you are trying to make the small man get out.
Teabag Republican government haters unite - the SR 31 bridge over the Withlacoochee will be built with 80 percent federal money. Get the government out of your lives, use the old bridge until it collapses.
Can't believe "grown ups" would move out of a rental house and leave trash all over the front yard like a landfill. Then other "grown ups" come by and sift through the trash like buzzards. Have we all gone crazy?
Glass and plastic bits from accidents are a problem in most states. The P.D. and F.D. are here not tasked with cleanup as they need to return to duty once the area is cleared. Tow truck drivers also will not sweep up glass as it may be seen as a dangerous job. Why not start a volunteer system?
Here we go again talking about the Bemiss Road "speedsters." Again I ask, What does it take out of your day to move over to the right lane to allow someone to pass you? If you insist on doing exactly the speed limit in the left lane you are the one causing a safety hazard by backing up traffic and causing drivers to become angry. I do 55 and move over for those coming up behind me and it takes nothing out of my day.
Valdosta Middle School Track has four water fountains and none of them are operational. Maybe if they were repaired, there would be fewer water bottles littering the parking lot and benches.
