VALDOSTA — You're right: I do apologize to the band parent with the initial complaint. I don't know how involved you are. I simply meant that in the majority of the time, the ones complaining the loudest are those who don't participate. And that the kids are generally given ample time and opportunity to raise money and payments are spread out over a year, not expected within a month or two.
Thanks, to director and staff at the Senior Center for having the rock and roll music at the dance Thursday night. Those seniors can sure boogie.
Huge thanks to Teachers Harvest for the great surprises this week! We appreciate all that Second Harvest does to help teachers in our community!
Thank you, citizens of Valdosta. You came through big time last week in your donations to help the people of Oklahoma!
Dean Poling ... always a great read ... Memorial Day story especially good ... God bless your great uncle and the thousands like him. Thanks for sharing.
To all the veterans who are still alive, thank God you are still alive. I do appreciate the sacrifices you have made.
The world would be a better place if you would talk to people, instead of about them.
The services that are just beginning to be offered to south Georgia for the care and treatment of persons with mental illness and developmental delays are, as usual, way later than anything done anywhere else in the state. Milledgeville and Rome state hospitals were closed precipitously with virtually no planning for community resources to be in place. Giving the system less than six months to fix a decades-old problem is typical of the lack of understanding about persons who need so much help.
The Lowndes High graduation ceremony was very nice, but we could not hear the speakers because the people sitting behind us were so loud.
